4 Coins

Legacy of the Divine Tarot / Gateway to the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti - 4 of Coins:

The shows a man with a greedy look on his face.  He is dressed in green and holding the 4 coins close to himself, as if protecting them.

The main thought on this card is greed.  It is different than being focused or putting on blinders to achieve a task.  Greed is selfish in nature, thinking only of oneself.  The is a caution placed on this card.  Do not be greedy in the physical nature of things.  Rather, acknowledge these and be generous.  Giving is the opposite of greed.  But do use caution with generosity as well.  Make sure that your own needs are provided for first, then give of your heart with love and caring.

Four Swords

This card shows a man sleeping, unaware, hovering above the 4 swords.  He lies below the symbol of chi ro.  The raven is hovering above him dropping a red (meaning Life) and white (meaning spirituality).  The combination of these 2 forces is a call to take time to rest and recharge in a spiritual nature.  mediation is one way to do this.  Mediate and draw within to attain this spiritual "sleep" will allow this spiritual change to occur within.

The Moon

Stunning Moon card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. The Moon card suggests things aren't always as they appear.:

The shows a shapely woman, naked before a full moon.  On each side there are the Egyptian gods, Thoth holding the Chi symbol.  There are also 2 anubis dogs on each side hold a chain with the triple moon symbol.  The triple moon symbols is often associated with intuition.  Although it may seem as though there is darkness around you, there is the promise of a new day.  Bask in the light of the moon and rest in a spiritual night.

Overall

There are several themes which tie these cards together.  One is the number 4.  It is in 2 of the cards this week.  The number four is associated with truth and honesty.  During your time of reflection which is necessary this week, be honest with yourself about what you need in order to grow spiritually and develop gifts and talents which can then be shared with others.

Also 2 of the 3 cards depict the chi symbol.  This can symbolize the life forces which lie within,  The "life" is also depicted in 2 cards this week.

To tie everything together, you are in need of time alone spiritually in order to develop gifts with which you are to share.  These gifts are not fully developed as yet, but they are coming.  Intuition will be strong so practice fine tuning your intuitive gifts.  Take time for you this week!

What mask are you hiding behind?

The Devil

The Devil by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

This is a new card for me.  I've never pulled it in my time as a reader, which in itself is surprising.  Perhaps it means that there is something new going on in my life.  I've been going through some turbulent times lately.  Before doing further research on the card, my intuition is telling me that there is someone who is working on my demise or attempting to do so.  It will not be successful as can be seen by the fool sitting on the hourglass in the corner.  It may be ongoing and may be tempting to get off my path, but with perseverance and determination, I feel this means that I can overcome whatever is thrown my way.

The book interpretation is quite different from my personal intuition.  The booklet emphasizes the deception of self in thinking that things are not what they seem.  Outside appearances can be fooling and one must look deep within beyond the masks.

Overall, this card can still be encouraging.  One should look beyond what appears to be true and be cautious in dealing with others and the things they are hiding behind.  These masks can be concealing something good or bad.  The hiding is the key to understanding that things are not always as they seem and close examination of motives is needed.

Take a good look at yourself first.  What is it that you are hiding behind?  What is it about you that you don't want others to see?  Why are you hiding behind it to begin with?  These questions will help to delve into the deeper meaning of the card and expose hidden things about yourself.

Week of September 18

knight-of-swords-legacy-of-the-divine-tarot:

Knight of Swords

The mask of the knight snowhn here is depected with wings, as in freedom to escape.  The hawks depicted are hovering in front of a tornado in the distance.  You have been in a situation which represents destruction and choas.  This could be a relationship, or physical sense.  The hawk can represent the ability to see through a situation to the root of the problem which takes courage to see the whole picture.  The hawk has keen perseption and can take itself out of harm's way to a safer place with their visionary abilities

You are in a situation which may be chatoic and destructive.  But there is an end, a freedom which is coming which will take you away from the chaos.  Just allow your intuition to guide you into a place of safety.
Temperance by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

Temperance

An angel is coming from the celing filled with light.  They hold a flame in one hand and water in the other.  The combination of the 2 elements indicates a strong balance despite seemingly opposing qualities.

All things in moderation.  This will create balance in your life.  The situation above will allow for growth and creation of balance as it is resolved.  This resolution will also aid in the development of a stronger perseverance and relationship with the one with whom you are struggling.  Perhaps this is a struggle with another person in relationship or a struggle within yourself.  Either way, the struggle will result in an increase in strength and growth.

Empress

Empress card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot (mass market edition):

There is an expectant mother shown on the card.  She appears to be ready to give birth.  As she is surrounded by a variety of beautiful plants and animals, it would appear that this would be a birth of something beautiful.  She waits in expection of the event

The waiting for expectations to be fulfilled can be difficult at times, but are worth the wait and time it takes.  There has been some effort put in by you personally, but nature is taking its course and you have but to be expectant of a positive outcome.

Overall

There is change that is coming your way.  It will begin with the resolution of a difficult situation and will require time and patience as this happens.  It will forge and birth something new and beautiful.  Wait in joy filled expectation and know this is in store for you.  Just as in the birth of a child, this is beyond your control and you must wait for nature to take its course.  Action will be required of you, but this will not be a dramatic action, it will be one of moderation and balance.  Do not become impatient with the timing of things.  The timing is beyond your control.  So let it happen and don't rush or force it to happen.  It will, maybe not on your time but it will happen.

Nurture

La reine d’écus - Legacy of the Divine Tarot par Ciro Marchetti:

Queen of coins

The queen of coins is depicted with wisdom and intuition here. She is wearing a green gown symbolizing her security in her surroundings including financial situations.  Her third eye is bright with radiant light shining through with intuition.  The third eye is symbolic of intution and wisdom.  The magnolia flowers which surround her are beautiful and symbolize her love of nurturing her surroudings and that which encompass it.
Earlier cards this week, spoke of maintaining balance and harmony while overcoming obstacles in life.  This resonates for myself by adding insight to these earlier cards.  It is telling me that I need to focus within, on intuition for clearer path to understanding obstacles and deciding on the choices I am presented with.  However, I need to remember to nurture the things around me and not get lost in myself to the point that I neglect that which is important to me.

Please comment on how this resonates with you.

5 Cups

Related image:

The card shows a woman who is feeling corned, physically harmed  and afraid.  Several of her dreams lay at her feet crushed into pieces, whlie the remaining 2 are clutched with a protective nature, yet perhaps unappreciated.  Notice the shadow behind her.  In Jung's theories he describes an inner shadow that we all possess.  It represents the dark things that lie within us.  Whatever it is that has caused this woman harm, has brought parts of the shadow back into her conscious memory.  This includes one of the cups she holds protectively in her hand.

Ace Cups

Ace of Cups by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

The card shows a single cup which is on the ocean floor amidst the natural oceanic environment.  You can see a variety of sealife at the base of the cup with a school of fish swimming in the background.  At the top of the cup are 2 catfish swimming.  The symbol of catfish is often associated with prosperity in new beginnings and emotional balance.  Inside the cup is the symbol for an inverted triangle known as the chalice.  The meaning of this sign is a representation of water and how it flows downward starting at the top.  It also symbolizes femininity.

High Priestess

High Priestess card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. The High Priestess says we will know the truth when we stop and listen the small, still voice within.:

This card shows a woman with a magical look in her eyes.  Her head is covered.  In hear right hand she holds a scroll and in her left is a coin with an unknown symbol on it.  She is physically coming out of water.  Her head is surrounded by a golden aura.  Above her head flies a white owl.

The high priestess is a woman of wisdom and experience in spirituality.  Coming out of the water, which symbolizes emotions and relationships, as well as, self-expression.  The white owl is a symbol of wisdom and change.

Overall meaning for the week

This week is going to be about changes.  While change can be painful and hard, it also represents the end of something and a new beginning.  For this spread, it would appear this is going to be an emotional change which will take a conscious effort to begin the process.  The change will be necessary to overcome an emotional obstacle in your life, perhaps going back to childhood.  This change will be a good thing and will restore emotional balance in your life.  You hold the secret to this change in your hand.  It is held tightly in your hands, you have but to open it in order to begin the process.  While it may be painful to begin an emotional change and may take conscious effort to do so, the rewards will be abundant and will increase your knowledge of yourself and the world around you.  Remain open this week to emotional change from something negative which will turn into something positive.

The Hanging Man

Legacy of the Divine Tarot: The Hanged Man:

The card depicts a man being suspended from a scarf in what could have been a precarious position, but, rather, is quite balanced to a perfection.  The mask that hides his identify has fallen from his face and coins are suspending in time from his hand and his hour glass is on its side so that time is stopped as well.

You are in a situation where you have restored balance in your life. The situation is over and the cycle is complete (the full moon in the background).  Despite the finality of the situation, there are many things which are opening up to you, freeing for you.  Allow yourself to be suspended in time to recoop and ready yourself for the next phase.  It may be spiritual phase with self esteem reflection.  The mask the man was wearing is now no longer necessary.  The situation has been required that you hide your true self from those around you.  You put it on at some point and are now ready to take it off and be your true authentic self again.  There is still a bit of doubt about what lies ahead, as shown by the scarf suspending from somewhere unknown.
