Week of September 25

4 Coins

Legacy of the Divine Tarot / Gateway to the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti - 4 of Coins:

The shows a man with a greedy look on his face.  He is dressed in green and holding the 4 coins close to himself, as if protecting them.

The main thought on this card is greed.  It is different than being focused or putting on blinders to achieve a task.  Greed is selfish in nature, thinking only of oneself.  The is a caution placed on this card.  Do not be greedy in the physical nature of things.  Rather, acknowledge these and be generous.  Giving is the opposite of greed.  But do use caution with generosity as well.  Make sure that your own needs are provided for first, then give of your heart with love and caring.

Four Swords

This card shows a man sleeping, unaware, hovering above the 4 swords.  He lies below the symbol of chi ro.  The raven is hovering above him dropping a red (meaning Life) and white (meaning spirituality).  The combination of these 2 forces is a call to take time to rest and recharge in a spiritual nature.  mediation is one way to do this.  Mediate and draw within to attain this spiritual "sleep" will allow this spiritual change to occur within.

The Moon

Stunning Moon card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. The Moon card suggests things aren't always as they appear.:

The shows a shapely woman, naked before a full moon.  On each side there are the Egyptian gods, Thoth holding the Chi symbol.  There are also 2 anubis dogs on each side hold a chain with the triple moon symbol.  The triple moon symbols is often associated with intuition.  Although it may seem as though there is darkness around you, there is the promise of a new day.  Bask in the light of the moon and rest in a spiritual night.

Overall

There are several themes which tie these cards together.  One is the number 4.  It is in 2 of the cards this week.  The number four is associated with truth and honesty.  During your time of reflection which is necessary this week, be honest with yourself about what you need in order to grow spiritually and develop gifts and talents which can then be shared with others.

Also 2 of the 3 cards depict the chi symbol.  This can symbolize the life forces which lie within,  The "life" is also depicted in 2 cards this week.

To tie everything together, you are in need of time alone spiritually in order to develop gifts with which you are to share.  These gifts are not fully developed as yet, but they are coming.  Intuition will be strong so practice fine tuning your intuitive gifts.  Take time for you this week!

The battle within

Five Wands

Legacy of the Divine Tarot The Legacy of the Divine is a stunning 78-card deck from Ciro Marchetti, talented artist and creator of the Gilded Tarot and Tarot of Dreams. It's roughly based on a Rider-Waite foundation, but rendered in a magical, highly realistic digital style. The deck is available as a special edition from Ciro, and also as a mass-market edition from Llewellyn.:

My first glance of this card brought some negative feelings to mind.  To me, it appears to be men fighting and attacking one another within the pits of supposed hell.  How can this be a positive thing?  Perhaps it depicts the journey that I've been on and how I've overcome some personal demons.  Literally, my dark night.  I have had some battles within myself that caused me distress and pain.  Yet, with the help of Tarot and Oracle cards, I've learned a lot about myself and how to deal with and move forward from some of these difficulties and pain to move forward with my life.

One interpetation of the meaning of this card is describing aggression and hostility.  While all three figures appear to be from the same tree, it could represent an inner struggle or a struggle between those who are intimately attached.

There has been ongoing struggle with another for awhile.  The struggle and confusion has caused both of you to withdraw from the other and create walls to protect yourselves.  This will not change anytime soon.  The struggle is going to continue; hostilities may grow or worsen.  But do not give up hope; the battle will come to an end and resolution will happen when you are both ready.

What mask are you hiding behind?

The Devil

The Devil by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

This is a new card for me.  I've never pulled it in my time as a reader, which in itself is surprising.  Perhaps it means that there is something new going on in my life.  I've been going through some turbulent times lately.  Before doing further research on the card, my intuition is telling me that there is someone who is working on my demise or attempting to do so.  It will not be successful as can be seen by the fool sitting on the hourglass in the corner.  It may be ongoing and may be tempting to get off my path, but with perseverance and determination, I feel this means that I can overcome whatever is thrown my way.

The book interpretation is quite different from my personal intuition.  The booklet emphasizes the deception of self in thinking that things are not what they seem.  Outside appearances can be fooling and one must look deep within beyond the masks.

Overall, this card can still be encouraging.  One should look beyond what appears to be true and be cautious in dealing with others and the things they are hiding behind.  These masks can be concealing something good or bad.  The hiding is the key to understanding that things are not always as they seem and close examination of motives is needed.

Take a good look at yourself first.  What is it that you are hiding behind?  What is it about you that you don't want others to see?  Why are you hiding behind it to begin with?  These questions will help to delve into the deeper meaning of the card and expose hidden things about yourself.

Week of September 18

knight-of-swords-legacy-of-the-divine-tarot:

Knight of Swords

The mask of the knight snowhn here is depected with wings, as in freedom to escape.  The hawks depicted are hovering in front of a tornado in the distance.  You have been in a situation which represents destruction and choas.  This could be a relationship, or physical sense.  The hawk can represent the ability to see through a situation to the root of the problem which takes courage to see the whole picture.  The hawk has keen perseption and can take itself out of harm's way to a safer place with their visionary abilities

You are in a situation which may be chatoic and destructive.  But there is an end, a freedom which is coming which will take you away from the chaos.  Just allow your intuition to guide you into a place of safety.
Temperance by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

Temperance

An angel is coming from the celing filled with light.  They hold a flame in one hand and water in the other.  The combination of the 2 elements indicates a strong balance despite seemingly opposing qualities.

All things in moderation.  This will create balance in your life.  The situation above will allow for growth and creation of balance as it is resolved.  This resolution will also aid in the development of a stronger perseverance and relationship with the one with whom you are struggling.  Perhaps this is a struggle with another person in relationship or a struggle within yourself.  Either way, the struggle will result in an increase in strength and growth.

Empress

Empress card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot (mass market edition):

There is an expectant mother shown on the card.  She appears to be ready to give birth.  As she is surrounded by a variety of beautiful plants and animals, it would appear that this would be a birth of something beautiful.  She waits in expection of the event

The waiting for expectations to be fulfilled can be difficult at times, but are worth the wait and time it takes.  There has been some effort put in by you personally, but nature is taking its course and you have but to be expectant of a positive outcome.

Overall

There is change that is coming your way.  It will begin with the resolution of a difficult situation and will require time and patience as this happens.  It will forge and birth something new and beautiful.  Wait in joy filled expectation and know this is in store for you.  Just as in the birth of a child, this is beyond your control and you must wait for nature to take its course.  Action will be required of you, but this will not be a dramatic action, it will be one of moderation and balance.  Do not become impatient with the timing of things.  The timing is beyond your control.  So let it happen and don't rush or force it to happen.  It will, maybe not on your time but it will happen.

Be on the look out!

8 Swords

Legacy of the Divine Tarot / Gateway to the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti - 8…:

The woman in the center is bound by cloth and her eyes covered.  There are 8 swords surrounding her pointing toward her.  Yet in the bottom corner, there is a lamp signifying that something is going to be brought into the light and brought into the darkness despite the storm ranging behind her.  The 8 swords are blanced in number with 4 on each side.  one interpretation of the number 8 is a balance and success in workign against the odds.

This card showed up last week in another daily draw.  This is sometimes known as a stalker card when one particular cards keep coming up.  Pay attention to these cards and what they might be telling you.  There is something more to learn for you.  Keep your eyes open and be aware.

You are continuing to feel under attack but are experiencing confusion as to the source.  You are feeling as though you bared your soul to someone and let yourself become vulnerable.  Now this is turning against me in unexpected ways and uncertain as to the true source of the issue.  Ponder the cause, the possible solutions, then make a decision.  The blind fold will then come off and you will be able to see the direction this attack has been made.  It may surpise you and come from an unknown source.   Pay attention to possible obstacles which are keeping you trapped and bound in the present and allow these to be released.

It's all about the timing

Legacy of the Divine Tarot - beautiful deck. I don't own it, and I don't know if it's for me. I think I'd have to see it in person. Images I've seen are beautiful.:

The Fool

In the center of the card there is a person clothed in red and wearing a purple mask.  He appears to be confused by the swirling cards around him.  He is standing on an hourglass with time on the top.  There is also a cat holding on to a ribbon attached to him with the earth below shown from the heavens.

The fool represents a new beginning, journey, or path that you are about to take.  While the path is uncertain and the timing is unknown, there is much to be learned along the way.  Be open to this path and new beginnings of knowledge.  It will happen, perhaps not on your time, but it will happen at the right time.

Gratitude in all things

King of Coins

King of Coins - Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti:
There is a man holding a coin, He is dressed in a rich green cloak and garment.  The columns behind him are also green.  He is standing at a rail possibly over looking the people of his kingdom.  There is a plague with the symbol of the earth.

This man brings tidings of wealth.  Not necessarily financial wealth, but spiritual, material, and abundance of those around you.  You are down to earth in all that you do presented by the color and the vines on the column.  You hold abundance in your hands, just like the king on this card.  Be grateful and express your gratitude to those around you.  This will help keep your grounded and happy and able to fulfill your day to day duties.

Nurture

La reine d’écus - Legacy of the Divine Tarot par Ciro Marchetti:

Queen of coins

The queen of coins is depicted with wisdom and intuition here. She is wearing a green gown symbolizing her security in her surroundings including financial situations.  Her third eye is bright with radiant light shining through with intuition.  The third eye is symbolic of intution and wisdom.  The magnolia flowers which surround her are beautiful and symbolize her love of nurturing her surroudings and that which encompass it.
Earlier cards this week, spoke of maintaining balance and harmony while overcoming obstacles in life.  This resonates for myself by adding insight to these earlier cards.  It is telling me that I need to focus within, on intuition for clearer path to understanding obstacles and deciding on the choices I am presented with.  However, I need to remember to nurture the things around me and not get lost in myself to the point that I neglect that which is important to me.

Please comment on how this resonates with you.

Obstacles

You may be feeling bound by obstacles in your life right now and that you are being "hit" from every angle.  There is hope though signified by the lamp which is going to bring light to the dark.  Don't feel discouraged despite the turmoil going on around you.  Hold fast and when you are ready, remove the blind fold from your eyes.  It is then that you will see the lamp and the light; you will know how to proceed to stop the attacks you are feelng.  Be patient.  Take the time you need.  It will not happen all at once.  It is hard work taking the blinders off and oftentimes it is very difficult and risky when you have much at stake.

This resonates for me today as I am feeling emotionally attacked and torn between a multitude of feelings.  I know that a solution will not come today and that it will take time and work to remove that which has me blindfolded and keeping me from seeing the possible danger surrounding me.  I am also experiencing a difficulty in keeping my thoughts and life balanced but, again, I have some work to do.  It will not resolve itself in a day, but it will in time.  Take courage.  Be patient.  Have a willingness to remove that which keeps you bound.

How do you interpret the meaning of 8 of swords?  How does it resonate with you??

Choices

Two Wands

Two of Wands:

This card shows 2 wands of different colored crystals on each side of 2 chests and a key in the center. 2 ribbons, one red and one green flow across the center and wrap around the wands.  One crystal topped wand is red which symbolizes intense feelins and passion.  A red colored ribbon flows besides this wand and winds itself around the wand.  The other wand is topped with a white crystal.  White is the color of purity and perfection.  The green ribbon wrapped around this wand symbolizes harmony and peace.  The two chests are of the same size, but are different in ornate details.

Before you lies 2 choices and the key is there for you to use to unlock the treasure which each chest contains.  One box will open up opportunities of intense feelings and create a passion within.  It may also mean that there are feelings and memories which need to be healed in order to move into your passions.  Passion can encompass a variety of ideas and feelings.  Both of which, may not be fully available to you in the current time.  If you choose this box, there will be a release of these and you will experience personal passion for whatever lies within you.

The other box will open up opportunities for perfection or steps toward that purity.  This will bring harmony and peace in your life and restore balance.  Opportunities await to restore this balance so prepare yourself for progress in restoring a peaceful resolution or another opportunity which will provide peace and harmony.

However, the contents of each box are hidden and remain unkonwn.  There are surprises which await you as you cannot control or choose the contents.  You must trust your instincts in choosing the box which is right for yourself.  You have the power of intuition to choose the box which contents are most needed in your life.  The key to open these opportunities lies in between the chests and is available for you to grasp at will.  You have 3 choices which lie before you today:  the outcomes are unknown at this point.  You can choose the top or the bottom box.... or you can choose neither.  But the choice is yours and yours alone.

5 Cups

Related image:

The card shows a woman who is feeling corned, physically harmed  and afraid.  Several of her dreams lay at her feet crushed into pieces, whlie the remaining 2 are clutched with a protective nature, yet perhaps unappreciated.  Notice the shadow behind her.  In Jung's theories he describes an inner shadow that we all possess.  It represents the dark things that lie within us.  Whatever it is that has caused this woman harm, has brought parts of the shadow back into her conscious memory.  This includes one of the cups she holds protectively in her hand.

Ace Cups

Ace of Cups by Llewellyn Worldwide, via Flickr:

The card shows a single cup which is on the ocean floor amidst the natural oceanic environment.  You can see a variety of sealife at the base of the cup with a school of fish swimming in the background.  At the top of the cup are 2 catfish swimming.  The symbol of catfish is often associated with prosperity in new beginnings and emotional balance.  Inside the cup is the symbol for an inverted triangle known as the chalice.  The meaning of this sign is a representation of water and how it flows downward starting at the top.  It also symbolizes femininity.

High Priestess

High Priestess card from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. The High Priestess says we will know the truth when we stop and listen the small, still voice within.:

This card shows a woman with a magical look in her eyes.  Her head is covered.  In hear right hand she holds a scroll and in her left is a coin with an unknown symbol on it.  She is physically coming out of water.  Her head is surrounded by a golden aura.  Above her head flies a white owl.

The high priestess is a woman of wisdom and experience in spirituality.  Coming out of the water, which symbolizes emotions and relationships, as well as, self-expression.  The white owl is a symbol of wisdom and change.

Overall meaning for the week

This week is going to be about changes.  While change can be painful and hard, it also represents the end of something and a new beginning.  For this spread, it would appear this is going to be an emotional change which will take a conscious effort to begin the process.  The change will be necessary to overcome an emotional obstacle in your life, perhaps going back to childhood.  This change will be a good thing and will restore emotional balance in your life.  You hold the secret to this change in your hand.  It is held tightly in your hands, you have but to open it in order to begin the process.  While it may be painful to begin an emotional change and may take conscious effort to do so, the rewards will be abundant and will increase your knowledge of yourself and the world around you.  Remain open this week to emotional change from something negative which will turn into something positive.

Harmony and strength

Legacy of the Divine Tarot / Gateway to the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti - 10 of Cups:

The card above depicts a cat and a dog huddling together peacefully in front of a warm, glowing fireplace.  They both look warm and content. 10 Cups are displayed in an orderly fashion around the fireplace mantel.  Symbols for Mars and Pisces are also displayed hanging in front of the fireplace.

Mars and Pisces together represents harmony and togetherness.  These symbols together also do not get ruffled when things get a little heated up.

Fire is consuming, burning everything in its path.  While fire can be destructed and bring whatever it touches to ruin, the silver lining to this is the opportunity for a new beginning.  In a fireplace, the fire is contained and controlled, proving warmth and comfort.  it consumes whatever is placed into the fireplace with predicted results.

The number 10 in numerology represents unlimited potential and options. Therefore, these can be a range of creativity, thoughtfulness, drive, and passion, or a combination of both.  On this card, it could mean the options for success contains a variety of methods in attaining goals.  We are encouraged to be remain driven and passionate about this in order to reach sought after success.

The suit of cups represents the element of water.  The suit of cups is also related to harmony and peace in relationships.

You have resolved a tense, negative situation and have now safely contained it.  While it is being burnt with a fire of destruction, it is burning away that negativity and the result will be something new and beyond your expectations.  You could not have predicted this outcome but the resulting relationship will be peaceful and harmonious.  You have many options for what lies ahead with this relationship and the path is defined by you and the other party.  In order to attain this level of harmony, however, communication becomes key and will need to also be a product of the refining fire.  A blacksmith places iron, which when placed into the heat, becomes pliable and provides the blacksmith to shape the piece into the shape he wants.  The piece can be functional or decorative, yet when the goal has been attained, something new is forged which when cooled is stronger than it was previously.  While the burning and refining can be a painful process, you have completed this phase and the result has made you stronger and more beautiful than before.  This strength is something that you had before but due to the extreme, intensity of the situation, you have been molded and shaped into something new which is stronger than at the beginning of the situation.
